Coming back inspired from the 2026 OECD Nuclear Energy Agency Integration Group for the Safety Case (IGSC) Annual Plenary Meeting held at the OECD headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt and the IGSC Next Generation Network (NGN) Meeting hosted at the Andra headquarters in Chatenay-Malabry! Had the opportunity to learn about the progress of some member countries' nuclear waste management programs and the activities of different expert groups, took part in knowledge sharing with other experts, caught up with the NGN members, and planned next year's NGN activities.
The NGN is a group of professionals who are developing expertise in the safety case for a deep geological repository and who will likely be the most heavily involved during the implementation of geological disposal in their home countries. Since its establishment in 2024, it has grown steadily in numbers and has already accomplished most of its goals. I can't wait to see what next year has in store for us!
